Christine Romans anchoring "Now In The News"?

It's Midnight CT and I flipped to CNN/U.S. and noticed Christine Romans anchoring Now In The News before the repeat of Anderson Cooper 360°. Is it normal for her to anchor the Now In The News at this time of night, or does someone from Atlanta do it? She was coming from the New York newsroom. This didn't seem to be "Live" as there was no live bug at the upper left corner of the screen. Can anyone offer any insight? Thanks!

She did the news break live before the original showing of Lou Dobbs, and it is unusual.

Most of the evening shows were taped except for The Situation Room, she probably was the lucky person covering the newsroom on the holiday just in case something happened and also did the updates. She was live at 10:00 p.m. doing the Now in the News segment.

CNN tends to do this whenever they show taped programming at night, or on a holiday. It happens with 360 a few times a month, when they run pretaped "specials." It's usually one live update at the top of the first hour, and another taped update at the top of the second. Generally, it's Tom Foreman, Randi Kaye, Joe Johns, or Gary Tuchman (or, it seems, whoever happens to be around).

Related: Have you noticed the second hours of 360 and Prime News have been reruns of the first hours, consistently for the last two weeks? Talk about lazy.

I understand completely. CNN Headline News is almost one big rerun on the weekends, and I hate it.
