ERICA HILL IS NAMED A CO-ANCHOR OF THE SATURDAY EDITION OF "THE EARLY SHOW"

CBS News - Hill Will Continue to Serve as News Anchor for CNN/U.S. and A Correspondent for Anderson Cooper 360°

Erica Hill has been named co-anchor of the Saturday edition of THE EARLY SHOW, it was announced by Sean McManus, President, CBS News and Sports. The appointment is effective immediately. Hill joins co-anchor Chris Wragge on the broadcast.

Hill will continue to serve as news anchor for CNN/U.S. and as a correspondent for Anderson Cooper 360°.

"Erica brings a tremendous amount of energy and passion, as well as live television and reporting experience to THE EARLY SHOW," said McManus. "She has done a great job filling in on Saturdays with Chris and we're very excited about this new team."

Hill has been serving as a news anchor and correspondent for CNN's Anderson Cooper 360°, as well as a substitute anchor for Cooper and Campbell Brown since January 2008. Prior to that, she was the anchor of Prime News with Erica Hill, a live two-hour interview and news program on CNN Headline News (2006-08), and a news anchor and substitute anchor on CNN. Hill joined CNN Headline News in 2003 as an anchor on the network's daily shows before she became co-anchor of Prime News Tonight (2005-06). She was as a national correspondent for "CNN Newsource" in its Washington, D.C., bureau (2004).

While at CNN, Hill covered many breaking stories, including the 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns, the war in Iraq, and the 2003 blackout that affected a large portion of the Northeast. She reported from Mississippi as part of CNN's coverage of Hurricane Katrina.

Before joining CNN, Hill served as co-anchor and correspondent for ZDTV's "Tech Live," a 30-minute daily news magazine (2001-03), from where she anchored live coverage of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. She also served as a reporter for "Tech TV News," covering a wide variety of technology stories, and co-produced news specials for the network on several topics, including the debate surrounding embryonic stem cell research, the technology behind the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2001 Academy Awards (2000-01).

Hill began her journalism career at PC Week as a production assistant for "PC Week Radio," the magazine's online news radio station (1998).

She was graduated summa cum laude from Boston University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Hill lives in New York City.
