CNN Press Release: Cheney, Pelosi to Appear on Final Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer
As he prepares to pass the torch to John King who will anchor State of the Union with John King, Blitzer will sit down with the two leaders to discuss the ailing economy, the war on terrorism and the challenges the new administration faces in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East. Cheney will reflect on his legacy as the Bush administration comes to a close, while Pelosi will discuss the upcoming congressional agenda.
Blitzer served as the anchor of Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer for 11 years. The program was seen in more than 200 countries and territories around the world and featured interviews with presidents, heads of state, politicians, candidates and observers.
Blitzer will continue to anchor The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, which airs weekdays 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (ET).
King was tapped last month to anchor a four-hour Sunday news power block, following his break-out reporting during the 2008 election season. The program, which will air 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Sunday, Jan. 18, will offer a blend of newsmaker interviews, political analysis, national and world affairs and cultural segments and will include media analysis from Reliable Sources with Howard Kurtz.
